The HVX Pressure to Latch Open Valve with Manual Open/Stop Lever uses “fail safe” actuation and is designed to be opened using the manual open/stop lever. The manual start/stop lever is used to hold open the valve until the engine is running there is oil pressure in the control system. When oil pressure in the valve control system drops below 20 psi (1.2 bar) for any reason such as the detection of an engine overspeed condition, the valve or will close.
